I am an environmental-social-personality psychologist who is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the International Association of Applied Psychology. I received a Career Award from the Environmental Design Research Association. I am the sole author of five editions of the textbook Environmental Psychology: Principles and Practice and edited the book Research Methods for Environmental Psychology. I served as Chief Editor of the Journal of Environmental Psychology for 14 years, and as President of three environmental psychology organizations. My article about the Dragons of Inaction is the most-cited article (of over 600) in American Psychologist since it was published in 2011. At the University of Victoria, I was honoured to be named a Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
